Seerpack — npm Trust Scanner · Last updated 5 April 2026
This notice describes how the Seerpack Visual Studio Code extension (“the extension”), published by Seerror / Seerror Technologies, handles information when you use it.
Summary
We do not collect your source code. The extension runs on your machine. It reads package.json locally and requests public metadata about npm package names from the same kinds of endpoints your tooling already uses (e.g. the public npm registry and related public APIs). We do not operate a Seerpack backend that receives your project files.
What the extension accesses
- Local workspace:
package.json(and editor state) to list dependency names and show inline diagnostics. - Network: Outbound HTTPS requests to public npm/registry services to fetch package metadata (downloads, maintainers, scripts summary, repository links, etc.). This is similar to what happens when you run
npm viewor install packages.
What we do not do
- We do not upload your repository,
node_modulescontents, or private files to Seerpack servers (there are none for this purpose). - We do not sell your data.
- We do not embed third-party analytics or ads in the extension by default. (If Microsoft / your editor vendor collects telemetry for VS Code itself, that is governed by their product privacy policy, not this page.)
Data retention
Scan results and trust scores are kept in memory / local editor state while you use the extension. We do not receive or store them on our infrastructure.
Children
The extension is a developer tool and is not directed at children.
Changes
We may update this page when the extension behavior changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect that.
